Domain trials 1300 number service!

2 minute read

Domain.com.au are trialling a new 1300 phone service for member agents. How it works is simple you register your interest and each office will receive their own unique 1300 number which will appear in place of your office contact number alongside listings and Domain.com.au will obviously keep track of all of your incoming calls. This is a great way to measure how many calls come into your office from Domain’s website.

Domain.com.au 1300 trial

It is 100% FREE to begin with but you may want to check terms and conditions.

Traditional 1300 numbers cost around $25.00 AUD per month plus call costs. Callers pay local call fees and owners of the 1300 number pay any other fees such as mobile/interstate call costs.

I run my own 1300 service for client support and it does costs me all up about $200.00 per month.

This is a great innovation, but I am not sure how accurate it can be as we all know that salespersons numbers are also listed alongside property listings. So unless there can be multiple numbers it may still be a little hard to track.
Maybe Domain.com.au have thought of this. But all in all, any efforts to make it easier to track where your business comes from is a good idea!

I think it is a good idea, however you are right Peter, how will it work for contacting agents like me who are ‘assigned’ to listings. This would be hard to measure.

I see the Domain 1300 trial terms & conditions are rough!

I guess if I was an RE agent I would want my 1300 to be transportable, not stuck with Domain.

In other words, Domain is trying to corner the 1300 services and lock in agents through Domain’s own 1300 numbers. But you can lease 1300 numbers for around $15 a month with really cheap call rates.
