Just Sold? Update….

< 1 minute read

Seems that this rumour was only just that. I have heard a few rumours about Portplus though, but will wait for something more concrete before adding it here.

Rumour has it Justlisted has been sold to Domain.com.au. So can anyone guess what was paid for this site? While you are at it, let me know who paid who? Seriously, I think it is really a nothing sale, but if true, more important questions are raised about the validity of Sensis as a serious Internet company. It was only just over 3 years ago this site was going to go National, a property guide newspaper was rolled out and big things were promised.

Just what are Sensis going to do now? I would love to be surprised – but after the multi million dollar Sensis Search Engine flop, the multi million dollar Just Listed flop, the multi hundreds of millions of dollars Kaz Computing flop, I really think they are out of flops! Maybe the Yellow Pages will………….ooops, they did it again!

This story is completely un-true – I suggest that the author check his / her sources more thoroughly before starting rumours

    Hi, Mr Check My Sources.

I had an anomonous tip off. It was from someone like yourself who did not wish to be named, so as I made mention it was a rumour. The rest of the article stands!

cant think why anyone would pay money for justlisted.
Unless its part of a wider deal.

That’s the problem with blogs – there’s no accountability

Blogged Off – You may be right, I had this from two sources. As I said it was a rumour, but I really did not know. I would doubt very much whether they (Sensis) could offload it anyway as they have made claim after claim in the past about the site and nothing has ever happened.

PS: I could have just deleted this but decided that I deserve the indignation. I have been wrong before and I will be wrong again.

    Good Evening,

Interesting comment Blogged Off – as you (like me) do not provide everyone with an idea of who you are. That is, no image nor direct email link.

Tell me again how this accountability statement works? Or are you an example?

From a friend who attended the domain conference recently:

domain have agreed to give their data (property listings) to justlisted. justlisted will then take the data, brand it as justlisted and publish it on the justlisted website.
domain then pay justlisted for the click throughs to their listings.

Very strange deal…justlisted concede defeat, domain hand over their database to justlisted and then pay to get traffic.

Can only guess domain are desperate to try and bridge the ever widening gap between themsleves and REA. I saw a press release to say that REA was now double the size of domain.

Hi Guys and Gals, well that is interesting Chris! As for accountability, lets just take a peek at where we supposedly get our real accountable news from.

Newspapers – Fake sources (aka insider, close friend and other ‘sources’)
Commercial News – Fake sources (aka insider, close friend and other ‘sources’)
Magazines – Fake sources (aka insider, close friend and other ‘sources’)
Current Affair Programs – Fake sources (aka insider, close friend and other ‘sources’)

The difference is that blogs are actually more accountable, because all of our (my) goof ups come back to haunt us. All of what we say are recorded.

I am definitely not afraid to make mistakes and not ashamed to leave them up for others to judge.

    is anyone here an agent?
i am and in the st george area. when the local boys came up with the system it was the easiest to use, the fastest and everyone used it people would carry the printouts to open houses. they were way ahead of realestate.com and domain.com. i remember having to make a cup of coffee between uploading photos to realestate.com and then just listed came out with the photo upload thing that did it instantly.
plus the site had a basic clean look about it.
the problem was the lads sold out and then telstra i think got a hold of it and it has been going down hill ever since.
why would any one pay for it – wake up – they still have the best sold system and data available. our guys are on it 24/7.
mike and paul are back in real estate in st george i’d say they would still have a few contacts if you really wanted to know if it was sold.

You’ll never find out who I am, muahahaha! Just kidding, my name is Sean Remington and I am a realtor out of New Mexico (thought I’d throw that in there). Great blog, Peter – I enjoy it.

    Good Afternoon,

    Sean welcome to business2.

I never quite knew how to spell Albuquerque, even though the name is often spoken in American sit-com’s here in Australia.

Hope to hear more from you.
